Meroform M12 Exhibition System

The secret of the sucess of the Mero Exhibition system lies in the close imitation of natural forms and principles being the tube and node. The simplicity of this exhibition construction method provides a multitude of creative applications, in the same way, nature is based on only a few simple structures. Consequently the M12 Meroform Exhibition system remains a continuous source of inspiration to the imagination of designers and architects.

Biomorphic Structures

The brilliant appearance of MERO Exhibition Systems at EuroShop  with its striking biomorphic construction of tubes and nodes was a great success.

The extraordinary shape and surface structure of the nearly 5m high steel exhibition structure attracted the attention of the amazed visitors at the exhibition.

The desire to touch the translucent evacuated membrane or to test the stability of the construction itself seemed to be compulsive. Those who approached the Nautilus exhibition system were literally pulled into its centre.

The meroform M12 tube-/node system was born from the idea of developing a simple yet versatile modular exhibition construction system modelled on the principles occurring in nature.

In collaboration with the well-known architects of 3e Werner Sobek Engineers in Stuttgart MERO Exhibition Systems have now started to adapt biomorphic structures to the decorative sector. In this way, the M12 tube-/node system is experiencing a kind of 'renaissance in a new spatial dimension'.

The Cladding of Biomorphic Structures

If the exhibition structure shall be cladded, you should consider fire protection regulations in accordance with DIN A4102/B1 when using on fairs.

Principally, the same cladding methods as for the M12 standard material can be used, e.g. panel connector M12, spider fixing techniques or M12 clips (see illustrations).

At our appearance at EuroShop we chose a translucent PVC membrane, which was put on the whole construction completely, closed in the bottom area and finally evacuated.

Light Weight Domes

The M12 meroform light weight dome system was developed for the construction of hemispheres, complete spheres, and sphere segments. Attractive external pavilions and curved ceiling structures may also be built.

The components are lightweight being manufactured of aluminium, and are available in anodized, powder coated or chromed finish.

Cladding can be manufactured from readily available proprietary panel materials, along with purpose designed vacuum formed plastic panels. For open-air exhibits special waterproof fabric membranes can be provided.

Spaceframes

Whether for multiple story stands, ceilings or pyramids with or without cladding: classic structures from the M12 tube and node exhibition system, create tremendous atmospheres for decorative interiors as well as exhibition stands.

Framegirders

MERO's principle to achieve the maximum with just a few components is especially applicable for M12 framegirders.

Used to create decorative ceilings, lighting gantries and towers, at trade shows, exhibitions, conferences or showrooms. Meroform M12 framegirders provide a maximum amount of economy, performance and creativity.

Spider Fixing Technique

The M12 Exhibition System offers different solutions for cladding.

If clear plastic clips, or plastic fixing channels are used, the spaceframe structure remains visible. Alternatively, you can hide the structure completely. The Cladding Connector M12 was designed to position leightweight exhibition panels up to 16 mm in front of the spaceframe. The new M12 Half Node may be used to reduce the distance between structures and cladding panels even further.

Also positioned in front of the exhibition system structure, the cruciform shaped Spider Fixing (see picture) allows bolted point fixing of a wide range of cladding materials (including glass). This method of fixing provides a stable connection between the nodes of the space frame.
